Domain name purchased: Sometime early 2005

First design mock up complete: Sometime mid 2005

Live date: 24 May 2007

I am a procrasinator. I like coming up with ideas which are generally pretty good. I am bad at implementation, very bad. I fully intended to have this site live within 3 months of purchasing version3.co.nz.

The title version3.0 was originally intended as a pisstake of web 2.0 that was emerging as a buzzword around the time that I bought the domain.

Turns out all I needed to do to actually get it going was take a couple of days off work, come to Wellington, and have nothing much else to do. The other thing that has helped was coming to the realisation that my design ability is no match for my imagination. So, with a scaled down vision and some time up my sleeve I set to work.

6 hours later, version3.0 is alive. It may not live up to the grandiose vision I once had, but I now have a proper home on the web. Yay!

Props to Redbeast, Slydawn and Ani for providing the added motivation I needed.

Yeah I’ve had one for, like, 6 years or something. An increasingly unsuccessful one.
