I am super excited about what is happening in drum and bass right now. The last twelve months has seen an explosion of experimentation, new talent emerging, and some of the old dogs are definitely learning some new tricks.
Plus Ultra is a fusion of one of the scenes most successful and experienced producers, D Bridge, and one of the new school (well, kinda), Instra:mental. These two heavyweights have come together to produce one of the most innovative mix series I have heard in a long time.
The Autonomic Podcasts seamlessly fuse drum and bass with the duos other influences. Things like minimal techno, IDM, dubstep, and stuff I have no idea what to call. They also feature plenty of tunes from the two artists themselves.
These are definitely not drum and bass mixes. They are just full of incredible music.
